Scout.com maintains a network of over 300 affiliated team websites. As Twitter engagement has skyrocketed for breaking NCAA sports news, Scout wanted to freshen up the design on the pages of their top 50 visited sites. Inspiration came from the team logos themselves in order to create a unified visual language across all of these pages.
The Challenge
Legal issues kept us from using the real team logos, but I wanted to keep the spirit of the originals in our revamps . We used the official team colors to stay on brand - and made sure all characters were portrayed either straight on or facing the right, so as to be looking at the page content.
